matram-2012Confederation of Indian Industry Southern Region is organising a 2-Day Conference & Exposition titled -“MATRAM 2012” -Modern Approach for traffic Regulation Administration and Management on 20 & 21 December 2012 at Hotel Le Meridien, Bangalore.

MATRAM 2012 is being supported by the State Police Departments of Government of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The premier event bring together Key decision making authorities of Southern Region States regulating traffic departments, Highways Department, Corporation incharge Major Corporate, Infrastructure Companies, Logistics providers (Cargo & Passengers), Hotels, Hospitals, Airport authorities from across a spectrum of industries with estimated audience of 200.

The responsibility of the maintenance of transport infrastructure is shared by many agencies operating at the central and state levels, while traffic regulation is the duty of the local traffic police.  This multiplicity of agencies without significant operational coordination among them has also bottlenecked traffic management.   The involvement of ‘human element’ in traffic control can lead to potentially dangerous situations.  The country witnesses about 23 road accidents per thousand vehicles – an alarming figure that is one of the highest in the world.
